For this task we need to have a good understanding of an organisation, and how the staff reacts to changes etc.  For this reason I would like you to focus on Pool Hayes Academy.  You may look at the school as a whole, or simply the sixth form.  The employees are the staff but the pupils are clearly involved in the process, so you should consider both.

P3

Outline how Pool Hayes motivates its pupils and staff.  You should talk to a head of house or head of sixth form and make notes.

In your report, ensure you fully explain the application of motivation theories Taylor, Mayo, Maslow, Herzberg, McGregor, McClelland, Vroom.  You may see links to only some of the theorists.  You will therefore spend more time on these theorists.

M2

Compare the use of motivation theories at Pool Hayes Academy.

Using the knowledge you have gained in P3 you are to compare the use of motivation theories.  Compare three to four theorists which you feel have the greatest impact at Pool Hayes

D2

Suggest, with justification (JJSDR) how Pool Hayes could improve its motivation for the pupils, or staff

P4 explain how organisations obtain the cooperation of their employees

Pages 26 – 34
